🌸 Our Story – House of Layers

House of Layers began with a fascination for one simple idea: what happens when you stop looking at a sheet of wood as a single product and start looking for everything hidden inside it?

That idea became the foundation of what we do.

From our Yorkshire workshop, we design original pieces around our own nested construction philosophy – carefully creating one design within another so that material which might otherwise become waste can become the beginning of something completely new.

A large bloom can give birth to a smaller bloom. A shape left behind can inspire another design. And sometimes, what begins as a by-product becomes a product in its own right.

That's exactly how some of our favourite House of Layers pieces have come to life.

Precision Meets the Human Touch

Technology gives us incredible precision, but we never wanted House of Layers to feel mass-produced.

Every component is precision laser cut before being individually prepared, hand painted, assembled and finished in our workshop.

The tiny variations that come from hand finishing are part of the character of each piece. Every finished artwork is individually numbered and carries our House of Layers authenticity engraving.

🌿 And Then the Garden Started to Grow...

Our flowers originally began as individual pieces of layered artwork.

But we kept asking ourselves:

What else could they become?

That question led to the House of Layers Garden Collection.

Our blooms became interchangeable. Stems became interchangeable. Displays became freestanding and finished in 360 degrees. Bases became interlocking, allowing individual arrangements to connect and grow into larger indoor gardens.

Suddenly a flower wasn't simply something to hang on a wall.

It could become a table centrepiece, brighten a windowsill, transform the empty space beneath a bay window or create a colourful flower border along a bare skirting board.

And because the system is modular, your garden doesn't have to be finished when you first buy it.
